Happy San Diego Comic-Con weekend! There was still a ton of exciting gaming, movie and TV news that dropped this week. Here’s what you may have missed.
Battlefield 6 Revealed
We got a first look at Battlefield 6 this week, the first mainline game in the series by EA and Battlefield Studios since the launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. Players got seven DLC releases for over the last four years.
“Witness the vicious path of destruction carved by Pax Armata, the world’s leading private military company,” the trailer description says. “PAX pursues the destruction of NATO and its allies, stopping at nothing to uphold their motto: ‘Our Protection, Your Peace.’ Lock & load for the ultimate all-out warfare experience.”
“Fight in high-intensity infantry combat. Rip through the skies in aerial dogfights. Demolish your environment for a strategic advantage. In a war of tanks, fighter jets, and massive combat arsenals, your squad is the deadliest weapon. This is Battlefield 6.”
Robot Chicken: The Complete Series Coming to DVD

WB and Adult Swim announced this week that Robot Chicken: The Complete Series is coming to DVD on October 7.
It will be the first time the series’ 228 episodes will be released in its entirety and will include DC, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Archie Comics, Christmas, and other special episodes.
Preorders are now open and will include exclusive 20th Anniversary Bonus Content.
Borderlands 4 Goes Gold, Gets Switch 2 Release Date

Gearbox announced this week that Borderlands 4 will release on the Switch 2 on October 3. Studio founder Randy Pitchford revealed the news on social media, noting that there has been no release date announced for other platforms so far.
In the replies to his post on X, Pitchford confirmed the Switch 2 version of the game will include 4-player local co-op, and will support mouse mode for the Joy-Con.
When asked whether the game will run at 60 fps, he said “it’ll be mostly around 30 fps.”
“It was important to us to not cut anything and to support cross play with other platforms. So, no. It’ll be mostly around 30 fps, with some dips in some intense moments heavy combats or if hosting a multiplayer game in handheld mode, etc,” Pitchford said.
His reveal comes a day after he announced Borderlands 4 has “gone gold,” which he explains used to be a term to describe the moment a game is “finished” development and is ready to launch.
Official Good Fortune Trailer
We got the official trailer for Aziz Ansari’s comedy-drama Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves as the “well-meaning but rather inept” angel Gabriel. Ansari is also starring alongside Seth Rogan, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Releases in December
At SDCC, Disney revealed the Percy Jackson and the Olympians original series is set to premiere it’s Season 2 on December 10 on Disney+. Oh, and we got a teaser trailer.
Executive producer and author Rick Riordan also revealed the casting for Nico di Angelo and his sister Bianca, with Levi Chrisopulos is set to star as Nico (as a series regular) along with Olive Abercrombie as Bianca. Riordan also revealed that production on Season 3 will begin soon.
Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on “The Sea of Monsters,” the second installment of Disney Hyperion’s bestselling book series by acclaimed author Rick Riordan. After Camp Half-Blood’s protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp — the Golden Fleece. With help from Annabeth, Clarisse and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson, Percy’s survival is crucial in the fight to stop Luke, the Titan Kronos, and their impending plan to bring down Camp Half-Blood — and ultimately, Olympus.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Update
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora got a new update this week adding both New Game+ and third-person mode. Developers said in a news release both features are some of the most highly-requested features for the game.
Ted Lasso Season 4

Apple TV+ announced that production has officially begun on Season 4 of the award-winning feel-good show Ted Lasso.
“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would,” Apple TV+ said in a news release.
We’ll obviously see the return of Jason Sudeikis, who also executive produces the show, as the titular character, along with the return of Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift and Brendan Hunt. New characters entering the pitch include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely, who is stepping in as Ted’s son, Henry.
Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival Revealed
Horror fans, unite. Doug Bradley is returning to his legendary role as Pinhead for the first time in almost 20 years in the upcoming Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a single-player survival horror action game that will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The game is being developed by Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games.
“Working on the first true Hellraiser game has been a venture deep into the recesses of my darkest imaginings,” said Clive Barker, creator of Hellraiser, said in a news release. “The dedication that Saber and Boss Team Games have shown is nothing short of remarkable. They’ve immersed themselves in the Hellraiser universe, capturing its essence—the seductive pull of suffering, the beauty within the grotesque—and forged a narrative that invites players to step beyond the threshold. I’m eager for both the curious and the damned to experience this new chapter in the Hellraiser mythos, where every moment balances on the brink of nightmare and revelation.”
There will be two Collector’s Editions available for the game, including one which will have an “exclusive version of the Hellraiser Puzzle Box with a unique illumination effect inspired by the game, a special Hellraiser statue to display it on,” and more.
No Other Choice Teaser Trailer and Poster
We got a first look at the theatrical adaptation of Donald Westlake’s No Other Choice. The film is being directed by Park Chan-Wook (Decision to Leave, Oldboy).

Spinal Tap II Official Trailer
Forty-one years after the release of the groundbreaking mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, the now estranged bandmates David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls (Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer) are forced to reunite for one final concert.
Spinal Tap II: The End Continues also marks the resurrection of documentarian Marty Di Bergi (Rob Reiner), who once again tries to capture his favorite metal gods as they contemplate mortality-and the hope that their 12th drummer doesn’t join them in The Great Beyond. Joined by music royalty Paul McCartney and Elton John, Spinal Tap wrestles with their checkered past to put on a concert that they hope will solidify their place in the pantheon of rock ‘n’ roll.
New Nightmare Before Christmas Novel Announced
The sequel to a hit book series that follows Sally from the cult classic Tim Burton film Nightmare Before Christmas released earlier this month and hit #1 on the NYT Bestsellers list. Hour of the Pumpkin Queen by Megan Shepherd takes place one year after her marriage to Jack Skellington, where “Sally finds herself grappling with the challenges of being the queen of Halloween Town.”
When she’s thrown into the mysterious Time Town where there’s a sinister plot tampering with her beloved Halloween Town, Sally must confront her deepest fears and decide what future she truly desires to save her town and return home.

Roguelike Out of Time Revealed
Manticore Games revealed Out of Time, ” an action roguelike where past, present, and future have shattered, leaving the world in a tangled, yet beautifully chaotic, mess,” developers said in a news release. Out of Time is set to release on PC in Fall 2025.
The good news: You and your friends will have an endless supply of gear and weapon combinations to choose from to build your own unique group of survivors. The bad news: All of mankind is trapped and needing to be saved from a gauntlet of dragons, mutant crabs, evil humanoids, warped beasts, killer robots, and everything in between – often all at once. New One Battle After Another Trailer
We got another look at One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, ahead of its September 26 release in theaters.
Paul Thomas Anderson is directing. Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro are also staring in the film, along with Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, as well as Wood Harris and Alana Haim.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Video Game Lands This Holiday Season

People born before 2000, celebrate for your children (or grandchildren)! They’re getting a chance to play in some actual reindeer games.
A 3D action platformer featuring the iconic stop-motion claymation Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is releasing this holiday season on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Our favorite little reindeer is on “a holly jolly quest to save Christmas,” developers said in a press release.
The game will feature two-player local co-op. Players will be able to visit Christmastown, the Island of Misfit Toys, Bumble’s Cave, and Santa’s Castle as any combination of Rudolph, Clarice, Hermey, and Yukon Cornelius. Each character has unique abilities.
Life of Chuck Hits Hits Digital Next Week

Life of Chuck, inspired by the short story by the legendary Stephen King, will be available to rent or stream on digital on Tuesday, July 29. The film will also release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 30.
