EA Reveals New Command & Conquer Mobile Game

The iconic strategy franchise is coming back with a brand new mobile game, Command & Conquer: Legions, set to arrive later this year.

Command & Conquer remains one of my favorites gaming series around, and despite this new game being a mobile title, I’m choosing to remain optimistic. Today brings word that EA is giving the series a new entry on mobile devices called Command & Conquer: Legions, with our first look at it.

Level Infinite today announced that they will release a new Command & Conquer™ mobile game via a licensing agreement with Electronic Arts. Command & Conquer™: Legions, published by Level Infinite, is a new mobile strategy game based in the Command & Conquer (C&C) universe. The game incorporates iconic heroes and villains, factions and a vast array of units from across the Command & Conquer games. The reimagined storyline and a new approach to strategy gameplay opens endless strategic possibilities. The game will have a Closed Beta Test later this month in Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand and the Philippines for Android devices. The global launch for Android and iOS devices is planned for later this year.

“Legions is being created with both mobile platforms and mobile gamers in mind, matching the way people play on their devices with shorter, faster sessions and streamlined controls,” said Anthony Crouts, Senior Director, Level Infinite. “The mobile strategy gameplay of Legions provides a new type of experience while presenting familiar units, heroes and aspects of previous C&C games.”

In Command & Conquer: Legions, engage in real-time PVE and PVP battles against other factions as you collect Tiberium, a powerful resource brought to earth that can either be used for technological advancement or to unleash destruction on enemies. On a large map shared with other commanders globally, you’ll be able to form strategic alliances of your choosing to coordinate attacks with your allies, share resources and strategize to outwit enemies. Send units to capture strategic locations and acquire as many Tiberium spikes as possible and claim precious resources. Outposts will extend reach and secure supply lines as players harvest resources, build bases, develop advanced technologies, and conquer cities and regions to claim victory.

If this initial look has captured your interest, you’ll get a deeper look at the game tomorrow during Level Infinite’s “Into the Infinite” showcase on Wednesday, August 23 at 10 AM PST/1 PM EST/6 PM GMT / 7 PM CES.

Command & Conquer: Legions is set to launch globally for Android and iOS devices later this year.
