Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Dive deep into lore at Gamescom

Fans got a masterclass on lore at Gamescom yesterday thanks to Bill Rosemann who lent gamers his expertise in learning more about Grand Unifier Raker and the Universal Church of Truth.

Rosemann, former editor of the Guardians of the Galaxy comics from 2008 to 2010, now works as Marvel Games Vice President and guided Gamescom viewers with commentary on the newly released cinematic trailer for Square Enix’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here is the trailer, sans-commentary:

“Collaborating closely with the team at Eidos-Montréal generated the incredible opportunity to delve into the Marvel archives, tap into some of our deepest cuts, and bring to life characters not previously seen outside the pages of classic comic books,” Rosemann said. “Grand Unifier Raker, the Universal Church of Truth, and previously revealed characters like Lady Hellbender and Cosmo are just a taste of what fans should expect from this game, where decades of Marvel stories shaped this new universe. It’s original, it’s outlandish, It’s 100% Guardians!”

During the showcase, NVIDIA announced the game will launch using NVIDIA DLSS and Ray Tracing for PC, and will be available to play via NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service GeForce NOW.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set to launch October 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and GeForce NOW. The game will be available as a “Cloud Version” on Nintendo Switch.
