If you were thinking about whether or not to dive into the next-gen upgrade for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot when it arrives (for free) next month, Bandai Namco has a new reason to jump back in. On top of the fresh look on January 13th, they will also be kicking off their Season 2 Pass with Bardock – Alone Against Fate. This marks the fourth major DLC for the game and will retell the iconic story of Goku’s father:

The new DLC is based on the DRAGON BALL TV Special focusing on Bardock, the father of Goku, in his quest to protect the Saiyans and their planet. In addition, upgrades to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT will be free for all owners of the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One versions, respectively.

Developed by CyberConnect2 Co., Ltd., DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT lets players experience the legendary story of DRAGON BALL Z. Featuring epic events and lighthearted side quests, including story moments that answer burning questions from Dragon Ball lore, fans can truly experience becoming Goku as they fish, fly, train, and battle their way through the entirety of the DRAGON BALL Z sagas. Enhancements to the new-gen versions include faster loading times, fluid gameplay up to 60 FPS, and new visual details that enhance the immersion into the world of DRAGON BALL. DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT’s in-game card game, Card Warriors, will also be available in the new-gen versions of the title as an offline version for single players.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – Bardock Alone Against Fate launches on January 13, 2023.
