PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S Versions of Grand Theft Auto V Coming in November

Rockstar Games has announced a release date for the next-generation versions of Grand Theft Auto V, if you’re into that sort of thing.

This November will mark the THIRD console generation for GTA V. Yes, sometimes it’s really hard to remember that the game originally launched on the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360. Mostly because the update for PS4/Xbone was so damn good, and continual online updates kept it alive the whole time.

If you’re looking forward to playing it on your newest console, you now have a release date to mark down. Rockstar announced this morning the Enhanced and “expanded” version of the game will hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 11, 2021. Though they didn’t get into any details, they promise the game comes with new features to enjoy and more to look forward to:

As an added bonus — this summer’s updates to GTA Online will include special benefits for players to take advantage of in these expanded and enhanced versions when they drop. Plus, in honor of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the genre defining Grand Theft Auto III, we’ll have even more fun surprises to share — including some specifically for GTA Online players.

While the standalone version of GTA Online will be available to players on both platforms, this new standalone version of GTA Online will be available for free exclusively to PlayStation 5 players during the first three months. And PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4, make sure to claim your GTA$1,000,000 by visiting the PlayStation Store at the start of each month — every month until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5.

No word on what the future of the GTA franchise holds, but it looks like we’ll still have more adventures to enjoy in V while we wait. Will you be picking this one up again in November?
