Rumor Control: Nintendo Switch Pro Reportedly Being Revealed Before E3

A new report from Bloomberg states that Nintendo’s long-awaited, highly publicized Switch upgrade will be unveiled prior to E3 2021.

E3 2021 begins on Saturday, June 12, 2021, with loads of developers and publishers hosting conferences to show off projects they’ve been working on. One of the headliners of the event, Nintendo is planning on holding a Nintendo Direct for the event to reveal their upcoming lineup of games.

However, a new report from Bloomberg (corroborated by Eurogamer) states that Nintendo is planning to unveil their upgraded Nintendo Switch model.

The idea behind unveiling the new Nintendo Switch is to allow 3rd party developers creating games supported on this new model to freely announce their projects at E3. It also allows Nintendo to focus solely on their games lineup, which is expected to feature Breath of the Wild 2 and hopefully Metroid Prime 4 and Splatoon 3.

Bloomberg reports that this new Switch is expected to release somewhere between September and October this year. It’ll be sold alongside with the Nintendo Switch Lite, as a cheaper alternative, with the current Switch model being phased out over time.

Stay tuned on the impending reveal of the new and improved Nintendo Switch.
