The Division 3 Announced By Ubisoft

Tom Clany’s The Division 3 is in development at Ubisoft, but it will be a while before we see it.

Massive Entertainment, the studio behind the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, are currently putting a team together for a 3rd game. The studio was of course the same studio behind the first two games.

Julian Gerighty, the creative director for Star Wars Outlaws, will lead all projects related to The Division. The series currently has 40 million players across all releases.

“This announcement represents Ubisoft’s dedication to the longevity of the brand,” Ubisoft stated. “In his new role, Julian will drive the many interdependent production elements of The Division brand in a unified direction. This includes development oversight, operations, and creative vision together with the development teams around the world who are currently developing the mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.”

The Division of course has had some hard times as of late. Ubisoft recently admitted the second game “underperformed,” as it didn’t meet the same sales numbers as the first game. It’s also worth noting this game is not to be confused with the upcoming “free” to play game, The Division Heartland, set to be released next year.
