All the LEGO Sets Announced In July: Batman, Wicked, Nintendo and More

It was Christmas in July for LEGO buildmasters, with the reveal of a variety of new sets from some beloved franchises and series.

The fan-driven Ideas series is getting a new official set with the reveal of the Italian Riviera set, which will release on August 10 in stores and online for $299.99. LEGO Insiders can scoop the set up on August 7, and if purchased by August 13 will also get the LEGO Italian Market Van (5009422) with the purchase.

The set includes 3,251 pieces (including 10 minifigures) to build three buildings — a gelato store, a diving equipment store, and a fish marker — that feature removeable roofs and upper stories that includes storekeepers and their homes.

“I’ve always been passionate about travel, and Italy stands out as my favorite destination. Its blend of natural landscapes and architectural beauty is truly inspiring. My submission is centered around the villages of Cinque Terre,” Fan designer Alex Sahli said in a news release. “One of the key structural challenges I faced was incorporating buildings at various angles while ensuring overall stability. I’m especially proud of the vibrant colors and the textural variety throughout the build – particularly in the water, houses, and stonework. I’m also pleased with how the tile roofing turned out; it’s a simple design, but it functions effectively and complements the overall aesthetic.”

LEGO Botanicals

LEGO® Botanicals Hibiscus Flower (10372)

LEGO also revealed two new Botanicals sets! The Botanicals Hibiscus Flower (10372) and Mini Bonsai Trees (10373), which is customizable 3 different ways: a ginkgo with yellow leaves, a black pine with green needles, and a wisteria with lilac flowers. Both sets will be available on August 1.

The LEGO Botanicals Hibiscus Flower is 660-pieces and will cost $69.99. The LEGO Botanicals Mini Bonsai Trees will cost $64.99. Both are available for pre-order.

LEGO Game Boy Model

LEGO loves to hit hard with the nostalgia. We’re getting the 421-brick LEGO® Game Boy Model that comes with interchangeable, brick-built The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Land Game Boy Game Paks.

Pre-orders are available now and the model set will release online and in-stores on October 1 for $59.99.

Batman Arkham Asylum

The LEGO DC Batman collection is expanding with the new Batman Arkham Asylum Set, which LEGO says it serves as “as both a stunning display piece and a unique 24-day LEGO Batman Advent calendar.”

The model of Arkham Asylum splits into three levels (two floors and the roof), and includes prison cells that open, an inmate delivery van and tiny details across 65 stickers on the set.

It comes with 16 minifigures, including Batman, Batwoman, Batwing, Robin, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Bane, The Joker, The Penguin, Killer Croc and 2 security guards.

The LEGO DC Batman Arkham Asylum set is now available in stores and online for $299.99.

TRANSFORMERS Soundwave Set

LEGO Icons is releasing a new set for the Decepticon fans with the TRANSFORMERS Soundwave Set.

The 1,505-piece set includes Soundwave, along with two buildable cassette companions Ravage and Laserbeak that turn into miniature cassette tapes that fit in Soundwave’s chest compartment. The build “features posable joints, a working cassette bay, and seamless conversion between robot and cassette player modes – without disassembly.” The play button works and will give buildmasters “an interactive, first-ever twist with sound.”

The set releases on August 4 in stores and online for $189.99. LEGO Insiders can get early access on August 1 and, if purchased before August 2, will get the LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett Starship (75409) while supplies last.
