As witnessed by both the olympic opening ceremony that he directed and his often unrestrained hair, Danny Boyle is a man of spectacle. The Beach is an early example of his work, showing both the competancy he has for visual flair as well as the adventurous style he has since become known for. It is an interesting and entertaining adventure that, while it won't be confused as a masterpiece, definately helped to pave the way for his success.
