It's difficult to review remakes, not to mention a port of a remake, which Resident Evil HD Remaster essentially is. Do you account for the quality of the original game? Or do you only objectify the changes in it's new rendition? I will attempt my fairest assessment by including both in my equation. Resident Evil is a Survival Horror classic, it has a genuinely disarming atmosphere and challenging gameplay. What had marred the original experience was some laughably atrocious voice acting and dialogue. The Gamecube remake slightly remedied this issue with rewrites and new voice acting, and those are retained in this HD remake. However, the voice acting is still nothing to write home about, and can occasionally take you out of the experience.
