At the February 5, 2026 Nintendo Direct, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun was announced for Nintendo Switch 2. Scheduled to release on March 18, 2026. Both the base game as well as the standalone expansion, Aiko’s Choice are coming to this switch 2 release.
Developed by Mimimi Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Shadow Tactics draws inspiration from classic titles such as Commandos, the game is set during Japan’s Edo period and follows a team of specialists whose distinct abilities require careful coordination to navigate heavily fortified environments.
The announcement states that the gam has been fully optimized for the new hardware and will support native mouse controls, offering precision in tactical gameplay. Performance enhancements include reduced loading times and improved overall stability. Gameplay will run at 1080p and 30 FPS in handheld mode and up to 4k and 30FPS when docked.
