After removing them earlier this year, the classic themes are returning for PS5 players.
We knew they would return eventually, but Sony announced that the classic themes that stormed PS5’s earlier this year are coming back starting tomorrow. Announced as part of the firmware update releasing tomorrow, the classic themes we had a few months ago to celebrate the history of PlayStation are returning.
The “Appearance” tab in the settings of PS5 will permanently include the various themes, which look like the same lineup we had before. This means you can change the sounds and look of the PS5 home screens to match that of a PS1, PS2, PS3, or PS4.
However the PlayStation Blog doesn’t make any mention if the classic PS1 boot sequence will also be included.
Also included in the firmware update is a new Audio Boost section in the settings. With this new features you can customize various levels of the audio output to better fit your gaming situation. What seems cool about this new feature is how it can pinpoint various things such as voice or “quiet noises” and try to elevate them for a better overall experience. Sounds cool, can’t wait to check it out.
