Report: Jim Carrey Could Return for ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ Sequel

It’s not even Christmas in July… so we’ve got Christmas in June? At least that’s according to Hollywood Reporter, which announced that a How the Grinch Stole Christmas sequel is in the works.

And that sequel reportedly includes Jim Carrey, who is in talks to return for his leading role, and Ron Howard to direct! My heart small heart grew three sizes that day I learned this (today).

The report says the film is not titled yet, but will be written by a trio that worked on the 2003 adaptation of The Cat In The Hat: Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer, and David Mandel.

All three worked on Curb Your Enthusiasm, with Berg’s additional credits for Barry and Silicon Valley; Schaffer also worked on Life, Larry and The Pursuit of Unhappiness and Dave; and Mandel with Veep.

A release date for the film was not included in the report.
