We decided to change things up a little bit this month. Instead of fully looking ahead to games we are excited to play, or intend to play, let’s discuss what we actually played this month. Times get busy, plans change, and games surprise us when they release, and it’s a bit easier to talk about what you just did in Oblivion vs game not out yet. Here is what the team has been playing this month, and what they are excited for later.

Oblivion
The surprise reveal had me hyped the second it leaked, and I never bought a game faster. Even though I’m working two jobs, three if you count this, I’m finding time to spend in Oblivion all night. I haven’t been this excited to get home and turn on my console since, well, Oblivion. I wasn’t a huge fan of Skyrim, so returning to a classic complete with its hilarious Bethesda trademarked glitches and hiccups is so much fun. This month alone I finished a majority of the guild missions and I’m about to head into the Shivering Aisles. I haven’t leveled up entirely, but doing the iconic Kvatch mission at level 23, oh boy!
Looking ahead, Doom The Dark Ages
I planned to play other games, but Oblivion is literally sucking up all my free time! I’ll likely be 100 percent in Oblivion in time to play Doom this month. Next month I’m looking forward to Death Stranding 2, which is said to have a little more action set pieces than the first, and I’m sad Lost Soul Aside got delayed to a month I’m dedicating to Metal Gear….
I’m not picking up a Switch 2, but I’m sure a majority of the team here is excited for that!

Overwatch 2 + Marvel Rivals
With the release of massive gameplay changes like perks and the newest Stadium game mode, Overwatch still has its hooks in me almost 10 years later. Balance this with Marvel Rivals, I spend more of my free time raging than I should.
But, overall, I’m enjoying the much-needed changes and actual upgrades in Overwatch 2 and the new Stadium mode is a breath of fresh air for the game (and I’m looking forward to the cross-play next season). I am curious how long it will take to get the game’s roster implemented.
Fields of Mistria
Fields of Mistria is a life-sim game that has big Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley energy but I find the world absolutely charming and the core gameplay loop addicting. The characters are more charming than the world of Mistria, and that’s saying something.
The game is in early access and the second major content update released in March bringing with it a ton of great changes and raised level ceilings for things like perks, romancing, and town ranking. And the dev’s have outlined a great roadmap of upcoming content.

Oblivion Remaster
The original took a while for me to get into, but once I did I loved every minute of the game. Seeing this remaster breathe new life into this game left me with the same level of excitement that I had when Skyrim launched. The greatest part is the game is a true remaster, underneath that shiny new paint job, the original engine of Oblivion ticks away in all its quirky buggy glory.
Blasphemous/Blasphemous 2
Metroidvania type games will always grab my attention, Metroidvania games with a dark religious undertone will hold my attention. Both of the entries in this series are beautifully brutal and mistakes are punished mercilessly. These two games have been my go to when I have a limited window available for gaming.
Baldur’s Gate 3
I love Dungeons and Dragons, and Larian made Dungeons and Dragons a video game (talk about walking away while you’re on top) With Larian’s final patch introducing new subclasses and finally allowing for cross platform play, it was a no brainer to pick this game back up. Throw in the BG3 modding community giving fans something to look forward to with new campaigns, BG3 definitely will have some longevity to it.
Diablo 4
Mindless fun, and now mindless fun with god powers and the chance to slap Belial around, how can you say no? I’m here for another season of playing with builds and chasing that sweet sweet loot.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
The new PlayStation 5 version has finally given me a chance to check out the new Indiana Jones game, and it’s pretty amazing. They absolutely nailed the tone, humor, story, and action that makes the character tick, while implementing some fun gameplay elements that really do a great job of selling the idea you’re on this globetrotting adventure. Honestly, I’m still not entirely sold on the first-person perspective. Considering how often it jumps back to third-person (for climbing and all cutscenes), it feels weird to have stuck with that. It’s not necessarily impacting my fun, but every now and then I wonder if a third-person version would do even better…
Xenoblade Chronicles X
When I’m not beating the shit out of Nazi’s on Indiana Jones, I’m exploring the alien world of Mira on the Switch. I’ve been waiting a LONG time for Xenoblade Chronicles X to finally make the jump to the Switch, and the update makes it better than ever. The only problem is there isn’t enough hours in the day for me to dive into this massive RPG as I’d like.
