Latest Star Wars Toys Embrace the Legends

Hasbro’s latest Star Wars fan stream revealed new Black Series and Vintage Collection figures that pull from some iconic Legends material…and more.

This morning, ahead of May the Fourth (Star Wars Day), Hasbro held another livestream event to show off a whole bunch of new Star Wars goodies. Surprisingly, despite a currently airing animated series and an impending movie release, the reveals were focused on other things entirely. But what they showed off was pretty great, so it’s tough to complain!

Bring on the Clones

What would Star Wars toy reveals be without some new Clone Trooper variants? On the Black Series side of things, we’ve got two new The Clone Wars characters in the form of Commander Thorn and Commander Doom (both arriving this Summer). Meanwhile the Gaming Greats line is giving collectors a swanky new Clone Commando figures from Battlefront II (coming this Fall).

Back to the Past

Perhaps the most exciting reveals (at least for me) came thanks to the announcement of more characters from the Old Republic era coming to the Black Series! Joining the recently revealed Darth Nihilus & Darth Traya two-pack are a new Mission Vao & Carth Onasi two-pack (coming this Summer). This brings us quite a bit closer to getting the original Ebon Hawk crew all together.

On top of that, The Old Republic MMO is getting some love too with the arrival of Satele Shan and a Republic Trooper this Fall. These will, undoubtedly look amazing next to the Darth Malgus figure they launched a bit ago.

The Vintage Collection

On the 3.75-inch scale of things, Hasbro also revealed some fun new additions to The Vintage Collection line. There’s a Clone Trooper Commander, Plo Koon, and new four-pack of Geonosian Warriors that will help flesh out your Attack of the Clones displays.

Beyond those, however, we’re also (finally!) getting a Bodhi Rook and new version of Anakin Skywalker based on the Sebastian Shaw version of the character in the original Return of the Jedi. If that’s not enough for you, we’re getting even MORE Heir to the Empire goodness with a new Luuke figure to go with the previously released Thrawn, Joruus, and Pellaeon TVC figures. All of these are set to arrive this Summer, with the Geonosians hitting in the Fall.

Convention Exclusives

Last, but not least, Hasbro also revealed two San Diego Comic-Con exclusives attendees will be able to snag. The Vintage Collection is getting a gorgeous looking two-pack featuring Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress. This is based on their iconic first encounter in Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars microseries and comes in at $51.99.

For Black Series collectors, SDCC brings a swanky Advanced Recon Force (ARF) Trooper and AT-RT for $80. Based on The Clone Wars (regular series), the color scheme is from Anakin’s classic 501st legion. Always nice to see them bringing new vehicles to this scale.

Both of these will be on hand at SDCC (more purchasing details to come) and some limited quantities will be up on HasbroPulse at a later date. Along those lines, pre-orders for ALL of these will go live on May the Fourth, Star Wars Day.

Which of these new Star Wars toy reveals are you most excited about?
