Borderlands 4 Fan Fest was held over the weekend in Downtown LA, and one of the peak moments of the event was the revelation of a brand new story trailer for the game that has since been released to the wider Internet. The trailer is age-restricted and can’t be viewed off-site, but you can check it out for yourself on YouTube.
This time around, trailer looks to be eschewing the zaniness of the prior games, instead choosing to provide some legitimate stakes as the denizens of Kairos struggle against the tyrannical Timekeeper. Borderlands 4 looks to be shifting the kooky looter shooter into something perhaps a bit more narratively focused. I’m expecting the end product to look something not dissimilar from the likes of comedy action romps such as Guardians of the Galaxy but in video game form.
Borderlands 4 launches worldwide on September 12, 2025 on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games store.
