While everyone (including us) were excited to see more about the vaunted Gears of War E-Day, the Summer Game Fest Xbox Showcase is always a great place to build hype for new IPs and unknown titles, too. One such game, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal was a later entry into the showcase, and with a reveal trailer like this, it certainly proved that it was worth the wait. Check it out with us:
Despite there being scant few moments of actual gameplay, what was teased so far is quite tantalizing. The style and aesthetics of the game are very evocative of a BioShock or something out of Arkane Studios, and the topsy-turvy moments we get of gameplay lend themselves to a game that’s heavy on problem solving and creative thinking. If this turns out to be some kind of stage magic-based immersive sim, I’m going to lose it.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal, like most of the games shown off in the presentation today, is scheduled to release sometime in 2027.
