One of the most unique creature collecting indie games has released a major free update for the game. Moonstone Island released The Evolutions Update on Monday and it comes with a ton of content.
Moonstone Island melds monster taming/creature collecting, cozy life sim, and deckbuilding into a charming open world. Developers have continued to release new content for the game in the two years since it launched.
According to Studio Supersoft, the free Moonstone Island update introduces:
- 28 new Spirit Evolutions.
- A new quest to teach you the basics of evolution.
- A new type of mine – the Deep Mine.
- A new boss battle.
In an explainer shared with the game’s Discord and patch notes, a Spirit will evolve once it reaches level 32. At that level, it will have an “evo meter” that fills as you win battles and use Spirit cards.
At 1000 points, you’ll be able to evolve your Spirit with an Evo Stone. The stones can be found in Psychic storms.
When a Spirit evolves, it will learn a new ability, gain a secondary element type and players will be able to choose from four cards (up from three) when the Spirit levels up.
