You read that right. Hell freezing over, pigs are flying, and it’s raining fish. Halo is coming to PS5. This is about as industry breaking as Sonic on a Nintendo console…..
To me the announcement of Halo heading to PS5 is just the brink of excitement. I no longer need to bum an Xbox off my brother to play the new game, awesome. But the entire game is being revamped with new audio and visuals, along with some new content, which makes it even more exciting.
Halo Campaign Evolved will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), and PS5 in 2026. Day and date for PS5, by the way.
The game will be a “modernized remake” of the original game, where the team did everything to keep the core aspects intact. The story, the gameplay, all will remain the same but look and run better than it did thanks to an updated engine. It will feature updated voice lines by the original voice actors and improved audio for the soundtrack which has been remixed at a higher quality. Animations have been improved, and visually the game looks stunning with new details added to all the weapons.
All this is due to the studio having full access to the original games code, which was used to build off of when moving over to Unreal Engine 5.
It will also feature cross play, so you can team up with friends on PS5 and Xbox to play together in co-op. The game will feature two play split screen and 4 player online co-op modes.
Current rumors suggest the game will come in at $50, but it hasn’t been entirely confirmed. However the developers behind the game suggest they are “attempting to bring in a bigger audience” for Halo, and this price point would heavily work in their favor.
