The Horror Game Awards revealed a couple new trailers, and part of the big show was Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy dev diary update 2.
Stormind Games took to the event to talk about the lore and narrative universe of the upcoming game, and franchise. Check it out:
Never played the franchise before? No worries. The developers again pointed out that this entry is a completely stand alone experience with no need to play the previous titles to understand what is happening. The game in fact works as its own entry point into the series as a contained adventure.
The protagonist Susan, voiced by BAFTA-winning actress Cissy Jones, faces a deeply personal ordeal: when her daughter is kidnapped, her desperate search eventually leads her to an abandoned villa on Mount Etna, a place destined to become the heart of a nightmare filled with secrets, trauma, and disturbing presences.
As the story unfolds, players will gradually uncover the history of the family at the center of the events, maintaining an atmosphere strongly inspired by classic Italian horror and its most iconic influences, drawing inspiration from the visual language and mood that made filmmakers such as Mario Bava and Dario Argento legendary figures in the genre.
This new chapter will also offer an important opportunity to further expand the lore of the Remothered universe, introducing new locations, mysteries, and story elements that deepen the mythology of the saga. Alongside the mysterious Convent of the Cristo Morente, players will uncover more details about the Order of the Red Nuns, a central component of Red Nun’s Legacy and one of the key elements connecting the events of the entire series.
The game is now available to wishlist on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC including Steam, GOG, and Epic storefronts.
