A Reimagined ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ is Coming to Theaters Next Year

A new take on the classic Bride of Frankenstein is coming to theaters next Halloween.

It was revealed earlier today that Maggie Gyllenhaal’s take on The Bride of Frankenstein is coming to theaters next Halloween. The film will be titled The Bride! and will come to theaters on October 3, 2025.

Gyllenhaal is set to write, produce, and direct the film which stars Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, and Penelope Cruz.

The Bride! is summarized as follows:

“A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aid of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police, and a wild and radical social movement”.
