Beverly Hills Cop 4 at Netflix Gets a Director

The (very) long-gestating fourth installment of Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop takes a big step forward as Netflix has brought on Mark Molloy to direct.

Beverly Hills Cop 4 is a project that’s been kicking around for a LOT of years. Most recently it shifted from a Paramount franchise with Netflix buying up the rights. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were, at one point, set to direct the film but they dropped out in order to to Batgirl instead.

Now, it looks like things are finally moving forward. Deadline reports that Mark Molloy has signed on to helm the project, marking his feature film debut.

Murphy is expected to reprise the role of Axel Folley, though there’s no telling what manner of trouble he’ll be getting into this time. No story details have come out and considering the movie still doesn’t have a production start date who knows when we’ll actually see it.
