Own Anomalisa on Blu-Ray in May

As is more and more common these days, the digital version of Anomalisa is going to be hitting before the blu-ray does on May 3, 2016.  It’s not normally common for it to be THIS much earlier.  If you simply can’t wait to get your hands on this movie, you’ll be able to own the digital copy of the flick next week.  Yeah…that’s pretty early.  For me, though, I’d much rather have the blu-ray with all the special features intact:

Hailed by critics as a “stop-motion marvel” (Scott Tobias, GQ), “staggeringly inventive” (Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly) and “the most human film of the year” (Matt Patches, Esquire), the singularly “unforgettable” (Peter Debruge, Variety) ANOMALISA debuts on Digital HD March 15, 2016 from Paramount Home Media Distribution.  The film arrives On Demand March 29 and on Blu-ray Combo Pack May 3.

Written by Charlie Kaufman, the visionary behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Being John Malkovich, and co-directed with stop-motion specialist Duke Johnson (“Moral Orel,” “Community”), ANOMALISA received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Animated Feature Film and was named one of the top 10 films of the year by the New York Times, Associated Press, Newsday, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, and many more.

Michael Stone – husband, father and noted author – travels to Cincinnati to speak at a customer service conference.  But once he’s separated from the routine of his daily life, a chance encounter helps him to realize just what, and whom, he’s been missing.  Love, laughter and loneliness align in this stop-motion work of art featuring the voices of David Thewlis, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tom Noonan.

The ANOMALISA Blu-ray Combo Pack with Digital HD includes an in-depth look at the incredible filmmaking process with Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson.  Plus, witness the groundbreaking techniques used to craft one of the most intricate and intimate scenes from the film.  Finally, explore the power of sound design and its critical role in the film’s emotional impact.
