There’s nary a horror fan alive who hasn’t at least heard of Sam Raimi’s gorefest of a debut, The Evil Dead. It’s a master class in practical effects and one-location shooting, made all the more impressive by the fact that it was Raimi’s directorial debut.
If you are somehow one of those who’ve slipped through the cracks of the fandom and still haven’t seen this classic gorefest, your excuses are getting slimmer with every passing day. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has just announced the 45th Anniversary Evil Dead commemorative release that’s sure to scare the pants straight off of you.

This new limited-edition release contains both the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray versions of the cult classic, with a bevy of special features included in the Blu-Ray, like commentary, TV spots, the theatrical trailer, and multiple behind-the-scenes featurettes.
