The official trailer for the new Hunger Games flick, Sunrise on the Reaping, offers fans a fantastic look at familiar faces and the beginning of a rebellion.
At a glance, Sunrise on the Reaping feels like an unnecessary prequel story. It explores Haymitch’s Hunger Games appearance, which is something we, obviously, already know the outcome of and even got a glimpse of before. Feels like the kinda story made just to expand the series and give us more movies.
Folks, don’t be fooled.
This is how I felt when the book was initially announced, but it ended up being my favorite of the whole series. It’s damn good, and this first trailer is just scratching the surface of that awesomeness.
THE HUNGER GAMES: SUNRISE ON THE REAPING revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping hits theaters on November 20, 2026.
