Christopher Walken Joins Dune: Part Two as The Emperor

The Emperor of the known universe is none other than Christopher Walken…at least in Denis Villenueve’s eyes as he joins the cast of Dune: Part Two.

Though he was mentioned in Dune: Part One, the Padishah Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV did not make an appearance. Considering his role in bringing down House Atreides, it’s no surprise to see him show up for the sequel. While we’ve heard Florence Pugh is set to portray his daughter, Princess Irulan, today brings news on the man himself.

According to multiple trade reports, Christopher Walken has been cast to play the Emperor in the upcoming film. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin are all set to reprise their roles, but I’m curious to see who else joins the cast. Hopefully we can get some actual MENA/SWANA people to portray the notable Fremen this time around.

Dune: Part Two will begin filming this Summer and set to hit theaters on October 20, 2023.
