First Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Trailer Arrives Tomorrow

20th Century Studios has revealed the first (brief) look at Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, with the full trailer set to arrive tomorrow!

If you heard squealing in the distance, don’t be alarmed…that was just me. Seemingly out of nowhere, Disney/20th Century Studios dropped a quick few seconds of footage from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, revealing the first trailer will be hitting tomorrow.

You all know that I’m generally opposed to sharing news about teasers for trailers, but this is Planet of the Apes. Exceptions must be made:

At only a few seconds long, there isn’t much to go on, but…just LOOK at it! My hype has already jumped through the roof.

I’m so glad we’re seeing a continuation of the previous Apes films. While I’m not 100% sure, I’m guessing the character we’re seeing here is none other than Cornelius, Caesar’s youngest son who was still tiny in War For the Planet of the Apes, and supposed to be the primary protagonist this time around.

This film starts an all-new chapter in the “Planet of the Apes” saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes.” The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), and Patrick Aison (“Prey”). Joe Hartwick Jr. (“The Maze Runner” trilogy), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Jason Reed (“Mulan”) are the film’s producers. Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are the executive producers.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently set to hit theaters on May 24, 2024 (and let’s hope that doesn’t change in tomorrow’s trailer).
