First Trailer for James Wan’s Malignant is Chilling in All the Right Ways

Today brings the first trailer for James Wan’s next film, Malignant, which brings the director back to his horror roots.

If you’ve been looking forward to seeing James Wan come back to the horror genre, then you’ll definitely want to feast your eyes on this trailer for Malignant.

I’m a big weenie, but it’s hard to not enjoy all the things James Wan does. Malignant looks like another winner. The story feels almost like a murder mystery, combined with the smarter elements of Come Play/Lights Out, and some haunting/monster movie goodness as well. Definitely things I dig despite my aforementioned weenie-nature.

In the film, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.

“Malignant” stars Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (YouTube’s “Impulse,” TV’s “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (TV’s “Containment”), Michole Briana White (TV’s “Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” TV’s “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (TV’s “Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”).

Malignant is set to hit theaters and HBO Max on September 10, 2021.
