Gareth Edwards Tapped to Direct New ‘Jurassic World’ Movie

A director has been located for the new Jurassic World movie.

The news broke earlier today that Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) has been tapped to direct the new Jurassic World movie after David Leitch exited the project. This is good news as the film is currently scheduled to release on July 2, 2025, which means they don’t have a moment to spare to get this film together.

Edwards seems like a good choice for director, as he previously directed Godzilla in 2014, so he has experience with stories involving large, monstrous creatures.

Only time will tell in the end though. Hopefully production can get up to speed, especially if the studio wants to keep that July 2025 release date.

What do you think of Gareth Edwards directing the new Jurassic World movie?
