Ghostbusters: Afterlife Merges The Old and New in Latest Trailer

This morning brings a fresh trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife showing off more of the new story, and plenty of classic connections.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from Ghostbusters: Afterlife (the legacy sequel that was supposed to drop last year), but this morning brings a brand spanking new trailer that’s all kinds of amazing:

Oh man….I love this trailer. It manages to give us some insight on the upcoming story and new characters, while blending in those elements from the original movies that have me pumping my fist. It almost feels like watching The Force Awakens trailer, in that it’s selling the new, but capturing the vibe of the old.

For those worried it might be relying too much on the old stuff to sell this one, I think the new story will still find a way to be its own thing (at least based on the previous trailer) and surprise us. Color me hyped.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters on November 11, 2021.
