Jon Watts is Helping to Revive a Franchise with ‘Final Destination 6’ in the Works

Final Destination is joining the list of revived horror franchises as Jon Watts has joined the team putting Final Destination 6 together.

Having just worked on Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jon Watts has joined the group working on Final Destination 6 as a producer, along with his wife Dianne McGunigle, and veteran producers Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor. The screenplay for Final Destination 6 is currently being written by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick.

Interestingly, this film is currently set to be released exclusively on HBO Max, with no mention of a theatrical release, though of course this could change in the future.

It’s important to note that Jon Watts is only producing Final Destination 6, he is not directing the film.

There’s no indication of a release window or cast as yet for Final Destination 6, though it’ll be interesting to see who joins this story as this is the first Final Destination film made since the franchise wrapped in 2011.

Are you excited to see Final Destination make a return?
