The long gestating sequel to Twister will be arriving in theaters in the summer of 2024.
Fans eager to see what Lee Isaac Chung is bringing to the table with his sequel to Twister won’t have to wait too long to see what it looks like. It’s been announced that Twisters, the follow up to the 1996 film Twister, will be releasing in theaters on July 19, 2024.
Chung will be directing Twisters from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith. Plot details are scarce but if the title is anything to go on, it’s likely the sequel will focus on multiple monster tornadoes, instead of the single tornado that Twister is best known for.
How Twisters can possibly add to a film like Twister is anyone’s guess, but I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a good popcorn film.
