Denis Villeneuve and Timothée Chalamet stepped on stage in front of tons of fans to reveal the latest action packed trailer.
The event took place in LA in front of fans and press which included new footage and the trailer, and it was simulcast across IMAX screens in Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal, London, Berlin, Mexico City and Abu Dhabi. Those in attendance also had the chance to see a clip from the beginning of the film which will also be shown ahead of select IMAX (70mm) screenings of The Odyssey.
Chalamet returns as Paul Atreides, continuing the story after his ascent to power at the end of “Dune: Part Two.” The film takes place 17 years after the events of the previous film, exploring the consequences of Paul’s rule as Emperor.
The trailer also highlights Zendaya as Fremen Warrior Chani, Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh), and Duncan Idaho. Check it out:
Dune: Part Three is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.
[Editor’s Note: Hey, Jordan here! Cutting into this article to add that I was invited to attend the event this morning and came away thoroughly impressed with the footage shown. Beyond the trailer, which is one of the best trailers around, the early clip they showed did a phenomenal job of conveying the new tone of this film. It’s visceral and intense in very different ways from the previous films, showing they aren’t merely looking to follow any particular formula for this third film.]
See the film only in theaters and IMAX across North America on December 18, 2026 and internationally beginning 16 December 2026.
