New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Trailer Comes Out of the Sewer

L-r, APRIL O’NEIL, DONATELLO, RAPHAEL, MICHELANGELO and LEONARDO in PARAMOUNT PICTURES and NICKELODEON MOVIES Present A POINT GREY Production “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: MUTANT MAYHEM”

As promised last week, today brings a brand new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, filled with action, humor, and awesomeness.

To be 100% honest with you, the fact we’re getting a new TMNT movie alone is more than enough to get me in the theater. I was going to be there regardless on opening night. That said, the all new trailer has my hyped pushed into overdrive:

Beyond the animation style (which is gorgeous), there are so many things I’m loving about this trailer. Most of all, you really get the sense that they are just…well, KIDS. While the other films/shows capture this to some degree, most of the time it felt cliched or tacked on. In Mutant Mayhem (at least based on the footage we’ve seen), you really feel they’re youngsters just getting started.

While they’re obviously already skilled, they aren’t heroes just yet and still need to find that within themselves, even as they’re growing. It just…is hitting all the right notes for me and I can’t wait to see the full thing.

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is set to hit theaters on August 2, 2023.
