Next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Lands Screenwriters

Paramount has found a pair of writers for the next attempt to bring the Heroes in a Half-Shell to the big screen.

Despite a reboot that managed to deliver a sequel, the previous attempt to revive the live-action Ninja Turtles franchise didn’t quite take. The company isn’t giving up, however, and with plans for a new animated film from Seth Rogen, and even plans for a live-action series, another film is beginning to come together.

Deadline reports that brothers Colin Jost (a Saturday Night Live writer) and Casey Jost have signed on to write the script for a new live-action film. While there are no real details at the moment, presumably this would be yet another reboot rather than continuing the story from the 2014 one.

As a big TMNT fan, I’m all about seeing them try as many times as necessary to get this franchise right. There are GREAT stories to be told. My biggest hope with this one, however, is they decide to actually focus on the martial arts aspect of things.

What do you hope to see out of a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie?
