Early Thursday morning, the Academy announced the latest round of nominees for the 2026 Academy Awards Ceremony. There’s a lot of what you expect, and a little of what you don’t, but no matter how you slice it, 2025 was a big year for movies again.
The 2026 Oscars will once again be hosted by funnyman and relative giant Conan O’Brien for his second time as MC. Big winners include hotly-rising star Timothée Chalamet, picking up his third nom for Best Actor in Marty Supreme, as well as the inclusion of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, a film which released directly to streamers (at least initially) which some argued rendered it ineligible for Academy Awards.

The biggest winner, though, is Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s Sinners, picking up a striking 16 nominations to become the most-nominated film in the history of the Oscars.
