The Hunger Games Aren’t Starving For Talent – Kieran Culkin Joins Sunrise on the Reaping Cast

Lionsgate continues to pump up the star power for the latest Hunger Games prequel! Just last night, Academy Award winner and Succession star Kieran Culkin was announced as the latest actor to join the already stacked cast of Sunrise on the Reaping.

Kieran, who won his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Jesse Eisenberg’s film A Real Pain, will be exploring the role of a young Caesar Flickerman, the host of the Hunger Games. Caesar was previously played in the original series by the great Stanley Tucci, continuing Lionsgate’s trend of giving these hot new stars a chance to step into the shoes of iconic performances from equally iconic actors.

Kieran joins Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, Ben Wang, Ralph Fiennes, and Elle Fanning as the announced cast of the film, shaping it up to be one of the most star-studded movies to hit the big screen in quite some time!

Major roles are starting to dwindle, but who knows what else Lionsgate has in the wings for us? We can only wait and see!

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will be released on November 20, 2026. Francis Lawrence will direct from a screenplay adaptation by Billy Ray. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce. Cameron MacConomy will executive produce.
