Tim Blake Nelson Joins The Cast Of Dune: Part 2

With Denis Villeneuve’s sprawling adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi classic releasing late this year, veteran actor Tim Blake Nelson joins the cast of Dune: Part 2.

Yes, the Hollywood Reporter is the gift that keeps on giving today as far as movie news is concerned as they announced that joining the already most stacked cast in film history is a personal favorite of mine, Tim Blake Nelson. The Old Henry actor has been around for quite some time now and has cemented his place as one of the best characters actors working today. Recently, he’s been a sort of muse for acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, appearing in the Netflix series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, and voicing a character in del Toro’s recently released stop-motion feature, Pinocchio.

Like I said, Nelson, along with fellow newbies Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, and Christopher Walken, joins an unbelievably loaded cast which already boasts Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgård, to name just a few. No word yet on what role Nelson will be playing, but with the release date now in this calendar year, I’m sure we’ll know soon enough.

While not a massive commercial success, Dune was a critical darling, earning 10 Academy Award nominations including best picture. As for Dune: Part 2, it officially wrapped shooting last month with a release date of November 3rd, 2023. Denis Villeneuve is of course back in the director’s chair, steering a script he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts.
