A Live-Action ‘System Shock’ TV Series is in the Works

Binge announced earlier today that a series based on the System Shock franchise is in the works.

The streaming platform Binge announced that they’re working with Nightdive Studios to create a live-action series based on the System Shock video game franchise. Binge itself is currently scheduled to launch in 2022.

“I’ve always believed that a live-action adaptation of System Shock would be the perfect medium to retell the harrowing story of Citadel station and its rogue AI that subjects the crew to unimaginable horror,” Kick said. “We’re very excited to see the talented team at Binge bring System Shock to life in horrifyingly real and new ways.”

Originally released in 1994, System Shock is set aboard a space station in a cyberpunk vision of the year 2072. Assuming the role of a nameless security hacker, the player attempts to hinder the plans of a malevolent artificial intelligence called SHODAN.

There’s currently no release date for the System Shock series on Binge.
