Amazon is Developing a Live-Action ‘She-Ra’ Series

Fans of She-Ra may soon get their chance to see the iconic hero in a live-action series according to some exciting news.

In an exclusive report from Variety, it’s been learned that a live-action She-Ra series is in early development at Amazon. DreamWorks Animation will serve as executive producer. While DreamWorks also oversaw the animated She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, this new live-action series would be unconnected to the animated series.

If this series actually happens, it would be the first live-action appearance for She-Ra in the character’s history. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we learn anything new about this series. The She-Ra series is in such early development that no writer has been attached as of yet. One detail that will be interesting to watch out for is to see if this live-action series acknowledges She-Ra’s relationship with He-Man. Canonically, She-Ra is the long lost twin sister of He-Man, however the Princesses of Power series completely omitted this connection and it’s not known if any future series will ever mention it again, as the rights to He-Man and She-Ra currently belong to two separate entities.

Regardless, the prospect of seeing She-Ra in live-action is an exciting one and hopefully the series will go into production sooner rather than later.

What do you think of the idea of Amazon making a live-action She-Ra series?
