‘Dexter’ Director Signs On to ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Pilot

The much-anticipated (at least by me) return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch in Daredevil: Born Again officially has a director its pilot, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Michael Cuesta, who directed the pilots of Dexter, Homeland, Blue Blood and Elementary, is reportedly taking a crack at the first in the 18-episode series that begins production this month in New York. Hollywood Reporter says that other, unnamed, directors are “being lined up to helm blocks of episodes,” and notes Born Again is slated to “to bow in the spring of 2024.”

We know Cox is not the only one reprising their role in the series, with Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. The report says that other actors joining the project are Sandrine Holt as Kingpin’s wife  Vanessa Fisk, along with Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Michael Gaston.

Matt Corman and Chris Ord are executive producers and writers on the show.

The show, and Cox’s official jump into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, takes its name from Frank Miller’s Born Again arc in the Daredevil comics, published in 1986.
