Spinoff Series Focused on The Penguin Coming to HBO Max

There’s yet another DC Universe story coming to HBO Max, this one will focus on the iconic Batman villain, the Penguin.

A number of DC Universe stories have been in the works for HBO Max, and now there’s going to be one about the Penguin. According to a report from Deadline, an HBO Max series focused on the Penguin is in the early stages of development and is being executive produced by Dylan Clark and Matt Reeves. Lauren LeFranc is set to be showrunner for the project.

Not much is known about this Penguin series except that it is described as “Scarface-like” and will follow the rise of the Penguin, also known as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot. Colin Farrell, who is set to play the Penguin in the upcoming movie The Batman in 2022, is also set to star in this series.

No further details are known about the series at this time, but it would be interesting to see a story about how the Penguin rises to become the criminal figure most know him as now.

What do you think of getting a spinoff series about the Penguin?
