Though news leaked out accidentally yesterday, today brings an official date for the premiere of The Last of Us series on HBO.
HBO/HBO Max is kicking off 2023 the right way by bringing the highly anticipated adaptation of The Last of Us in January. After fans noticed a release date inadvertantly pop-up yesterday on HBO Max, today, the news is official: The Last of Us series will premiere on January 15, 2023!
THE LAST OF US takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
This certainly helps ease the pain of having no House of the Dragon for the next couple months, though I’m expecting plenty of new heartbreak thanks to the show.
