The good news keeps on coming for Critical Role fans as fans were given the news of a fifth season renewal for The Legend of Vox Machina ahead of the season 4’s release in 2026.
From the beginning, fans of Critical Role knew that The Legend of Vox Machina wouldn’t last forever. As epic as Campaign 1 is, it does have an ending and fans now have an idea of when that end will come.
It was revealed during San Diego Comic Con that The Legend of Vox Machina is renewed for a fifth and final season, while season 4 will arrive on Prime Video on 2026, exact date to be revealed. This means, in effect, that the show has two seasons to wrap up the final arc of Campaign 1: Vox Machina’s legendary fight against The Whispered One, whose evil presence has been teased since the beginning of the series.
Happily, Prime Video also released a teaser for season 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina, in which Percy de Rolo has a plan:
It was also revealed that the series will include late-campaign characters Taryon Darrington (also voiced by Sam Riegel) and his robot assistant Doty. There were questions about whether or not Taryon would be included since his time in the overall story is relatively brief, but it’s nice to see he’ll get his moment in the story.
There’s no timeline on when season 5 of The Legend of Vox Machina will air, but 2027 or 2028 seems a safe bet based on the release of past seasons. For now, we have to wait until 2026 to see the story of Vox Machina continue as they investigate The Whispered One.
