We have known that a third installment of the Knives Out Mysteries has been planned for years, but we’ve finally gotten the first true bit of footage for Rian Johnson’s latest foray into the adventures of Benoit Blanc with Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, as well as its Netflix release date. The plot details remain scarce so far, but the overall tone and Daniel Craig’s words about the “impossible crime” suggest a more dramatic story than the prior two entries portrayed. Also of note is the return of Jeremy Renner to his first film back since the snowplow incident, which is welcome news.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is scheduled to release on Netflix on December 12, 2025. The film, which is written and directed as usual by Rian Johnson, also stars Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.
