Warner Bros. Finalizing Deal for ‘Avengelyne’ Project with Margot Robbie Potentially in Title Role

In huge news, Warner Bros. is working on a deal to make an adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s Avengelyne a reality.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is in the end stages of negotiating a massive deal that will see an adaption of Rob Liefeld’s Avengelyne be made. According to the report, this deal, if successful, would see Margot Robbie in the title role, with Olivia Wilde directing and Tony McNamara penning the script.

Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, wrote Avengelyne as an angel who fights demons and monsters. She is described as follows:

[Avengelyne] was the most feared warrior in heaven’s Warhost, having single-handedly broken into Pandemonium, the outer fortress of hell, to confront the devil himself. She is a fallen angel, banished from heaven by God after being tricked into questioning his love for humans. Avengelyne was stripped of all her angelic abilities, other than her great strength and her blood, which, once extracted from her body, could be used as a weapon or a miracle, when it is empowered by quoting verses from the Bible. Avengelyne uses her powers to fight demons on Earth and is being groomed to be humankind’s last hope in a coming Armageddon.

It’s not known exactly how much this deal is costing Warner Bros. except that it’s believed to be in the range of seven figures.

What do you think of Warner Bros. potentially making an adaptation of the Avengelyne comic?
