Warner Bros. Reveals Release Dates for ‘Mortal Kombat 2’, ‘Companions’ and More

The movie schedule for the next few years is starting to take shape thanks to some new announcements.

As we’re unbelievably getting close to the midpoint of 2024 already, studios are starting to reveal release dates for films due in 2025 and 2026. One of the bigger announcements to come out today is that Mortal Kombat 2 will hit theaters on October 24, 2025. The film stars Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Damon Herriman, Tati Gabrielle, Martyn Ford, with Chin Han, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Companion, directed by Drew Hancock, will actually hit theaters before Mortal Kombat 2 on January 10, 2025. This film’s plot is unknown for now but its cast includes Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.

Meanwhile Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger (Barbarian) is due to hit theaters on January 16, 2026. This film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan.
