Cities Skylines 2 Feature Update | Zoning

Check out the new feature update for Cities Skylines 2 which showcases the new zoning features for your city.

The new highlight goes over how you can better control zoning for your new city. One of the biggest updates is additional zoning for “medium density” which goes along with low and high density, along with the addition of Apartments and low rent housing which is great for college towns or young adults in your city. You can also do mix use zoning now as well, which will include shops on the first floor of apartment buildings.

One interesting feature I notice is that de-zoning is simplified. For one it no longer is its own separate tool, you can quickly press an alternate button to dezone an area. The other interesting aspect is that you no longer need to dezone an area to add a new zoning type to it, you can now quickly just go over the zone with the new addition.

One more quick note is also the fact each city can now zone specific areas for different building types. So you can have one section be North American buildings, and another be European buildings. In the current build you need to select this and change the entire map at once, so it is a nice change.
