First Madden NFL 22 Trailer Reveals Tom Brady & Patrick Mahomes II as Cover Athletes

EA Sports has released the first trailer for Madden NFL 22 showing off fluid cinematics, detailed graphics, and Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes II on the cover.

It’s officially the countdown to Madden season!

For weeks, the Madden community of fans have been speculating who the cover athlete of Madden NFL 22 would be. Vegas was even getting in on the action, I received emails from prop bettors that Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry was the favorite to be the cover athlete of Madden NFL 22.

Today, EA Sports proved everyone wrong by making Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes II the cover athletes of Madden NFL 22. They unveiled the duo at the end of a cinematic trailer that showed off detailed graphics and some sick cinematic sequences.

While making Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes II the cover athletes of Madden NFL 22 isn’t the most inspired choice, there is merit behind it. Tom Brady is now a 7x Super Bowl champion and Patrick Mahomes II is a Super Bowl champion, the highest paid player in the history of the league, and arguably the face of the league now. So having two generational QBs who won the last two Super Bowls is a prominent choice.

That said, though, both have already graced the cover and it’s just more QBs getting the spotlight over other players. So, it’s understandable to feel a certain type of way about the choice.
