Here’s Why Xbox Fans Should Be Excited for Ghostwire: Tokyo

Back in March of last year, Ghostwire: Tokyo launched as a timed exclusive for PlayStation and I was floored by this game. Tango Gameworks went all out with this game, making it by far one of the most launch-ready, perfect titles I had ever played. Now, April 12th Xbox players finally get their hands on this title and I think they will be overjoyed with their experience.

With that said, if you are still on the fence about the game I have five reason Xbox Players should get ready to play Ghostwire: Tokyo, a game I called “the new gold standard for gaming“. Let see why you should play Ghostwire: Tokyo right when it launches tonight on Xbox…

PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH

Something I stated in my original review of Ghostwire: Tokyo was that “This is what games should be launched like.” The game was originally set for a 2021 release, but was delayed until 2022 and you can tell Tango Gameworks and their team took the extra polish opportunity and ran with it. When I say perfect I actually mean this game is perfect.

There was not a single bug, audio issue, graphical tear, glitch, or lag issue that I encountered in this game. The over all graphical presentation is stupendous, with every location you find comes another level of beauty and disbelief. Gamers will find themselves awestruck with the eerily gorgeous backdrops of a lifeless Tokyo.

A PARANORMAL MASTERPIECE

The story of Ghostwire: Tokyo is full of mystery, paranormal excitement, and some of the best storytelling Tango Gameworks has done. From the very beginning of the game, you feel connected to Akita and the pain he must push himself through while searching for his sister. His world has been completely turned upside down, the population of Tokyo has vanished, and the weight of saving them all rests on his shoulders.

Every aspect of the story speaks volumes to how Tango Gameworks loves the action horror genre but also loves Tokyo and its folklore. There are many moments in game that you will run into yokai or urban legends from Japanese folklore that will either reward you for finding them or try to kill you. This list of enemies and character in the game really made Ghostwire: Tokyo stand put from other games I have played.

Ghostwire, however, treats sidequests with proper gravitas. Literally, every side quest you play in the game furthers the paranormal aspect of this game and deepens your connection to things. From finding a ghost’s lost dog, cleansing corrupted Cherry Blossom Trees, or even helping a spirit play the piano perfect again, these sidequests add tons of depth to the game’s already vast storyline.

I don’t think there has been a game in recent years where I have so thoroughly enjoyed the main story and sidequests equally. It felt like what you were doing actually mattered, like you were really helping these poor trapped souls either be released to the afterlife or be saved from their torment.

MIND BENDING, NON-STOP ACTION

One thing that really pushes Ghostwire: Tokyo’s gameplay to the edge of insanity is it non-stop action. Traveling through town of Tokyo, fighting off goul’s and ghost, with the power of Water, Fire, and Wind Spiritual attacks is just utterly satisfying. You can make these attacks faster, do more damage, and even upgrade attacks over time.

Once you being to master the skills and abilities,  the game really starts to make you feel like your a real paranormal hunter on a mission to save Tokyo. As I said about the side quest before, some of these missions are very action based, but minding bending as well. These missions can fa e you off against larger ghost enemies, place you in Spiritual Areas of Death, or even puzzle-like rooms that you have to solve before leaving. The moments just keep on pushing you and are what makes this title stick out far more than other titles.

NEW DLC “Spider’s Thread” DAY ONE

This title has been out just over a year on Playstation and in that year we have seen updates to the game that mainly focused on quality of live scenarios. This time around were getting the new free update Spider’s Thread. This update will add new areas, new story cutscenes, quality-of-life improvements,  Spider’s Thread mode, and more!

This is by far the biggest update/DLC the game has seen yet and will breathe new life into the game for current players. Now for Xbox Players, I will say this is going to be one hell of a ride for you all from start to finish. Everything about Ghostwire: Tokyo bleeds action, horror, and thrilling story telling like never before. Please check back here over the next few weeks as we challenge the spirit realm in our co-streamed Walkthroughs of the game
